CO-founder: Daniel Pearl Investigative journalism Initiative
The Daniel Pearl Investigative Journalism Initiative (DPIJI) allows journalists to conduct in-depth reporting on anti-Semitism and other deeply ingrained prejudices around the world. The DPIJI was founded in 2010 to honor the memory of the 38-year-old Wall Street Journal reporter who was slain by terrorists in 2002 in Pakistan while investigating Al Qaeda. The DPIJI is a project of Moment Magazine.
co-founder: Moment Gallery
The Moment Gallery expands conversations with art. At a time when dialogue can stall and discourse can overheat, the power of non verbal language has been known to reframe complex and contentious topics. Along with featuring artwork, The Moment Gallery hosts virtual and live discussions and events.
founder: Big question project
Based on the ancient saying from Ethics of our Father (Pirkei Avot): "Who is Wise? One who learns from everyone," the Big Question Project is a way of moving beyond old school debates that too often shoehorn complex questions into a simplified form, pushing people into polarizing positions. Instead, the project uses a broader lens to present a spectrum of voices on issues critical to public discourse—from politics to culture to religion. Interviews with a carefully selected group of creative thinkers and doers build fresh ideas, consensus and community. The project reveals nuance, builds trust and strengthens democracy at polarized times such as ours—and is one part of Moment's overall democracy strengthening efforts.
